Designed and built as a sequel to the very successful Raspberry Falls Course, Old Hickory engaged a “Teddy Roosevelt” theme with a clubhouse replete with Frederick Remington Bronzes, Indian Prints, and a variety of taxidermy mounts such as bison, elk, and moose. The turn of the century bar embraced considerable amount of 19th century mahogany millwork. In addition, a large dining facility accommodated 225 guests and a kitchen to support weddings, corporate outings and other special events. The golf course has been well received by a market that embraced only a few municipal courses and expensive private country clubs. Raspberry and Old Hickory filled a hole in the market with a “Country Club For A Day” experience.
