Located in the fox hunting mecca of northern Virginia at the foothills of the Catoctin Mountains, “Raspberry” was specially unique. Fox hunters mounted on horses, with their traditional red attire and baying hounds would pursue foxes within sight and hearing distance of the golf course. Golfers and hunters would retire after their respective events to an “Old English” pub-like clubhouse with a view of the 18th hole and its waterfall driven trajectory. This was truly a unique golfing experience for the undersupplied Washington golf market and won several awards. It was considered as being in the top 10 in Virginia.
